PRESIDENT'S REMARK

Assalamualaikum,

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam,
I am very glad to meet you in this Ma’ruf Club president remarks, may Allah bless us together.amiin. First of all, I would like to thanks to Allah for giving me the opportunity to be the president of this great club. The title of the president is not a glory but a responsibility. Therefore, I hope that Allah Almighty will give me the strength to lead this club in order to achieve its vision and missions.

We as the Muslim should be proud because we are born as a Muslim. The great pleasure we get from Allah Almighty. Therefore, we need to improve our iman and good deeds in order to show our thankful toward Him. Recently, we celebrated two new years, the 2008 and 1429 H. With the spirit of Maal Hijrah I hope that we can improve ourselves to be the real Muslim as our role models, the Prophet Muhammad and his companions. We are the best ummah, guided by Quran and Sunnah. Allah said in the holy Quran about the best ummah and its criteria: “You (true believers in Islamic Monotheism and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his sunnah) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (Islamic monotheism and all that Islam order one to do) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has prohibited) and it is they who are successful.” – Ali-Imran: 110.

Ma’ruf Club 07/08 with the theme of “Discover the Beauty of Islam” are try to train and guide the IIUM community and it members to be the best ummah as mentioned in that ayah. To generate a true Islamic (Quranic) community at IIUM is our ultimate vision. Therefore, we need the support from all parties in order to achieve this target. We love IIUM, we love IIUM community, and we love the Muslim all around the world. Allah has bestowed us with the mind to make us different from animals. By using the mind in the good manner we will find the truth. We must use our knowledge and intelligence to differentiate between the true and wrong, the good and bad. The man with a healthy mind will prefer to do the good deeds and avoid the bad deeds as ordered by Islam. Then, we will recognize as a true believer.

Last but not least, since we are in the month of Muharram 1429 H, I would like to wish the whole IIUM community happy Maal Hijrah and may Allah help us to improve ourselves to be a real and good Muslim with His love and blessing. Ma’ruf Club is always welcome you to the club and participates in our beneficial activities. Thanks!
